Hi guys,

I'm new to this VPS thing...

Can any one tell me are these things secure?? Can they see my trades or account amount and stuff?? Also, Is it true that I can access MT4 anywhere..even at work?

Also does it allow me to run simple EAs?

Please advise.
Never chase the market!

As far as my knowledge the VPS is safe, it allows you to have 24/7 access and that is great for doing business. It is not affected by power outages and you should not worry about always having your computer on.

It is excellent if you have numerous trading accounts with different brokers because you can access from anywhere. On the internet they load VPS hosting lists for Forex that might interest you.
Now, I suggest you seek advice from the voice of experience, which not doubt will surpass my knowledge 😁

This is an example that I have found, I can not recommend it with closed eyes, but it is good that you investigate and consult with a professional Forex with more knowledge than you, in case of opting for VPS hosting for Forex.

Hi sid4spd, VPS is safe if you have a verified provider for it. Also you can access MT4 on your computer, phone , tablet, iPhone, at home, at work, outside – everywhere 😄 All you need is a device and good internet connection. Regarding the EAs – MT4 allows all kinds of EAs, even if they are self-developed. But here I must mention that for EAs it is also important that your broker gives you permission to use them, because some brokers have different restrictions.
I see that you are new here – welcome, good luck and be patient! Cheers 😄

Hi Tiffany,

Thanks for the welcome message! :) I am new to VPS..not quite so new to MT4 :) .. just wondering about security and EAs working on VPS version of MT4...my home internet is notoriously unreliable...I put on a trade with an EA at night only to wake up in the morning to find that I've lost internet connection and its frustrating to see price touched my level where the EA would have trigger my stop.

I am hoping that a VPS will solve this problem.

@TiffanyK So it is best to make sure the broker allows the use of EAs, knowing the restrictions. interesting! 😉

Hmm.. cannot guarantee that VPS will solve this problem because it needs a good connection also 😄 But it may help you with the EAs order execution I suppose..

Hi @waltel. Yes, some brokers have restrictions for EAs with suspicious and unknown origin. Most of the brokers allow all the EAs but feel free to contact them before you try your EAs 😄

It is probably more safe than your home PC. Usually it is virus free, more reliable and with stable internet connection

I run all my trading thru VPS. I would be very surprised of anybody's home internet is more reliable than a professionally run VPS center. Keep in my this is there profession, keep servers running, as reliably as possible.
Unless this is also your profession, and have the resources to buy the necessary hardware, a VPS is going to be more reliable.
Yes, you can access it from anywhere.
Yes, if they want to, they can see what you are doing. There is no 100% secrecy, that's the price to pay.

agreed! In my view also VPS is more reliable in terms of execution speed and security than the home server but it is an expensive service

Undoubtedly, VPS is more reliable than the home server. It enhances the security and improves latency. Regarding affordability nowadays, there are many brokers in the market who provide VPS services at a very affordable price structures. Just make sure about the reliability of the broker before taking up the service.

I think it is a necessary investment if we want to do a good trading, that is, if we are dedicated to trading and it is our goal to make lots of money there we have to take risks and invest in tools that facilitate or secure our work, Of the VPS and I decided to hire the service, it was not difficult to recover the money that was invested there. 😉

You are right Mark. After all in order to succeed we have to pay certain cost for it. And for good and successful trading VPS is essential. Good luck for you trading Mark.
