can you please share us in details what setting with what EA you are using ?

Actually I only tried to catch the trends earlier with 9,69,1.7 and I don´t use Swiss Army for trailing, because FGB trails good enough...I use Swiss Army only to set a safety SL to 50 pips in order to be double sure, that my account is save.

ralle,

nice results with 9, 69, 1.7... congrat :)
would you make 5 years backtest with both settings please
so we could see if this setting works in the long run
you can make backtest much faster if you choose 'open price only' because fgb opens and closes trades after candle close on eu M15 chart so you don't need to test on 'every tick'
thx

...anyway...FGB is one of the best ones actually...maybe we can improve it a little bit with 'ManualTradeControl=true' and a second trade-manager-EA like Swiss Army, if we are not able to sit in front of the screen all day long ;-))

oh, a little bit closer then my wish EA. this EA won't open a trade, only modify the existing trades.. still searching free EA that can order the opposite way each time FGB make any order. would any one ever know this EA?

wait, at ver1.51, there is setting to open the hedge, curious the mechanism. if it open opposite way after FGB order, it should be 2 winning trades, first from swiss army, second from FGB :)

If an EA needs hedging or martingale, then the trading-logic sucks...the entries of FGB are a bit late sometimes - but they are good - they catches the trend mostly. It´s not easy to find settings, witch catch the trend earlier. As I mentioned before, I use 9,69,1.7 actually. Here are two screenshots - one of mine settings and one of the default ones:

OK...but I have only good tickdata for 3 years...as a conclusion...9/69/1.7 generates more or less 20 % more profit with slightly more drawdown and less, precicer trades...of course the DD depends on the lotsize...anyway it´s quite an alternative setting, if the default ones are in an unlucky period ;-))

I did a backtes from 2004 with both settings

With default settings:
Maximal drawdown 911.14 (8.53%)
With your settings
Maximal drawdown 1569.30 (15.52%)

As you can see, with your settings the maximal drawdown is almost doubled...

As I said they are good settings (give more profit) but they are more aggressive than default.

You can see it from the equity line:
DEFAULT SETTINGS

YOUR SETTINGS
<a href='' target='_blank'><img src=''/></a>

Hi Peter...to my mind it´s unfair to the developer...honour his work...FGB is worth every penny ! !

Thanks Dave...what I can see is, that there is an unspectacular period from 2005 to 2008 with nearly no gain ... especially with default settings...any thoughts why ?

I think this is a good proof that EA´s always need to be improved according to the current behavior of the currencies...

nothing is perfect, anyway settings with this flat curve from 2006 to 2008 save your account from a bigger drawdown.
Ex with default settings max drawdown with 0.1 lots is 911 euro

with 9-69-1.7 settings is 1569.

So.... if you run the ea with 2000 eur and 0.1 lot with default settings the max drawdown is 50%, with 9-69-1.7 settings it's about 76%, very very closed to the margin call....

Backtest depend on broker and datafeed...as you already know...my 3-year BT on AAAFx (ok - not the best broker) look like :

9/69/1.7_____0.10 lots_____1421 DD
DEFAULT_____0.10 lots_____1290 DD

So not a BIG difference there.

To avoid a margin call, risk only max. 2 % per trade.
If we set a SL=50 pips and have 1000 USD equity, one single trade should only burn 2% of 1000 = 20 USD.
If we have a mini account starting with 0.01 lot (1 pip = 10 cent) we can trade therefore with 0.04 lots (1 pip = 40 cent)
50pip SL x 0.04lots = 20 USD

Even if many SL happen in a row...your account is not in danger ;-))

Anyone with the signal service (not fgb 1.5 basic power, or advanced) still riding out the positions that are were open Friday evening? The signal service has been reflecting the trades on here with the exception of last week. So I was curious if the signal service needs are restart on my end or not.
