You can to download tickstory, and
Downloads market data for instruments from various sources.
Stores this information in a local database for quick retrieval.

Tick story is what I use to backtest with 99% model quality, only problem is it has to be used with MT4 build 432 which can be a pain to find so here it is! Now someone give us a backtest of cash printer from at least 2007 or so to present, there have been a lot of different market conditions since then!

Can some one do a backtest from 2007 with high model quality? There are only 35 copies left on the there website and I really would like to know if its worth it?

Only 35 copies? If you believe that, I have a bridge to sell you.

I have been tempted with this but I thought it all looked a bit scammy, like no fxbook until end??
No myfxbok data for competitiors.

The ticker on the website says 30 copies left but I know for a fact they sold more than that as if you go to checkout it tells oou howmany people are buying it.

How they then try up sell you another version yet they telling you your buying the exact version...

They don't take paypal despite having the logo on there website....

As you have said above the back testing doesn't seem to tie in with the reported performance over the same period??

Anyway you guys who took the plunge, good luck and I hope you prove me wrong....

Someone post some results that would be great...

Running the standard and extended version on EURUSD and GBPUSD.
Using 6 EAs inc 3 Strategy 3 Aggressive EA.
So far has done 8 trades.
All closed in profit.
Made ~6% in 3 days at Risk 0.2.
The direct support from Oleg is good.

BTW according to Oleg the contest was done using the standard EA, all default setting except Risk 0.5.

Tickstory uses fixed spreads, despite real spreads being available in true tick data.
No point in back testing unless you have true tick data that has on each tick:

1) Time
2) Bid Price
3) Bid Volume
4) Ask Price
5) Ask Volume.

Anything else is a waste of time.

The EA only started trading yesterday. I have put Forex Cash Printer and Y-Combination on my live account. So far only Y-Combination has opened and closed some trades. The other one hasn't opened a single trade. I don't know how often it opens trades.

Default setting is different than the one in the competition.
They said:
'We have decreased the risk to 0.2 from 0.5 but you can manually
change it to 0.5 if you wish.'
Maybe that's why it is not opening any trades yet.

They have up sell for the Winner robot extension. I think you need to get that extension in order to have the same result for the past 3 months. I am not sure about this, it is just what I think.

Hello

I'm using tickstory + tick data suite. They work fine together.

Speaking about the backtest, I have the data starting from 01.01.2008 to now, and I'm finalizing that.

Please wait for few hours to complete them and for me to publish the result.

The first thing I can say, is that it's 'impossible' to have full backtest from 2008 as some strategies build in the EA only trades since 2012... Don't know if it's hardcoded or due to market change.

Stay tune.

So I did the back tests,
Just a little introduction about the EA, there are 3 strategies in the EA, named S1, S2 and S3. The last one have an 'Aggressive' mode.
The configuration show on the ForexSensation Website is the following:
• Risk – 0,4 %
• S1 – Enabled
• S2 – Enabled
• S3 – Enabled
• S3 Aggressive – Enabled

Note that is slightly different from the default one:
• Risk – 0,2 %
• S1 – Enabled
• S2 – Enabled
• S3 – Enabled
• S3 Aggressive – Disabled

Here is the link where I’ve put the results of the backtests, there are still some missing, the default configuration from 2008 using MM and default with fixed lot.

https://skydrive.live.com/redir?resid=35E7C7ED845D4644!1042&authkey=!AEpdnWSmbUfW9Zk

My test use Dukascopy ticks data, it's an ECN as the ECN account used by forexsentation with FXChoice, as the guys sent the investor password for that account. Unfortunately I don't have the ticks data history of FXChoice. But I have a real account on which I'm running the EA.

I took data from 2008 to now. I took an initial balance of 10000 $. Fixed lot of 0.1, except for the full strategy, tested both the competition params and the default ones.

Comments and new backtests will follow.

Little explanation...

ForexSensation_All_Compet2008.htm
Competition params - from 01.01.2008 to 2010 ---> all the money lost on the account

ForexSensation_All_Compet2010.htm
Competition params - from 01.01.2010 to now (as previous settings loss all the money in 2 years)

ForexSensation_S1c_Fix01.htm
Strategy S1 only - Fixed lot of 0.1

ForexSensation_S2_Fix01.htm
Strategy S2 only - Fixed lot of 0.1

ForexSensation_S3_Fix01_Norm.htm
Strategy S3 only, normal mode - Fixed lot of 0.1
--> Only start trading in 2012, I believe that the news filter affect that strategy and that there is no data before that date.

ForexSensation_S3_Fix01_Agg.htm
Strategy S3 only, aggressive mode - Fixed lot of 0.1
--> For me really bad perf, except during the competition time, that helps the EA to growth a lot

The standard settings behave a little more better (backtest in progress) as the main responsible for the loss is the S3 stategy, so putting that strategy to norml instead of aggressive is a lot more better.
Definetly I won't use that EA with aggressive mode !

I've added the following, backtest from 01.01.2013 to now, you can see the drawndown just before the start of the competition, and beginning to growth just at the beginning of the competition.

ForexSensation_All_Compet_June_Now.htm

Competition Params, competition start at number 52 and finish at 144
