Every Cypriot investment firm regulated by CySEC is also MiFID compliant. Cyprus has taken the necessary steps to implement the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID) into its legislation. The Investment Services and Activities and Regulated Markets Law, N.144(I)/2007, which implements MiFID and the level two directive, took effect from November 1, 2007, and replaced the previous legal regime. The purpose of MiFID was to provide a homogeneous legal framework amongst European Countries regarding the operations and regulation of investment firms.
