Demo accounts are used for gaining practical trading experience without the involvement of real money. There is no real money transaction in demo accounts and hence a great platform to learn, test new strategies and do a lot of other experiments without any risk of loss.
The main purpose of demo trading is to dive a rookie into trading activity. Actually, this purpose is quite clear. It is created to teach new traders how to treat the market. Of course, there is no theory on demo, just practice, but lots of brokers nowadays provide you with special educational courses which are directed to teaching you theory of trading. Of course, you should dedicate enough time to it, however if your intentions are strong and you have really decided to connect your life with trading, then you must pass all the steps on your way to success and wealth. It's hard enough, but there are no other ways.
Demo accounts are used by stock trading platforms, foreign exchange trading venues, and commodities exchanges. Demo accounts are geared toward those who've always wanted to trade, but don't have enough money, have the money but don't know where to start, or are experienced traders who want to test new strategies.
I think demo accounts serve a great purpose and those that use them long enough and actually focus on strategies are much more prepared when they switch to a real account. It's true that you don't get the emotional aspect of trading from a demo, but that doesn't mean that one should skip over them.
The demo helps to learn trading skills. It is very difficult to make money from trading if you have incomplete knowledge about the forex trading Therefore, all types of analysis should be practices through demo trading.
The main goal of demo trading is to meet a trader with trading activity. It's a quite good instrument for acquiantance with various oeculiarities and features of trading activity. It literally teaches you how to trade. It's a great empirical method I guess. There are no alternatives to it. Even if you will watch some videos where traders make traders, it won't give you such experience as your own demo-trading will. In my opinion, the main two things in the process of learning trading activity are theory (videos, courses, information) and demo-trading. All brokers offer such a function. You can also create, edit and test strategies on demo account.
Demo accounts offer an opportunity for traders who are interested in learning more about forex trading or who want to test out a new type of trading strategy without putting their money at risk. But it will not give you the experience of actually trading.
Akasuki posted: @marindateal Yes demo is very beneficial for learners. Some people say it has no use. But to test our strategy demo is the best platform. We can't risk money by testing a strategy on live account.
Absolutely, I would just say that a demo trader need to however keep trading realistic, and not use a bigger amount in demo when in live he would be using a smaller account.
Demo trading is not mandatory, but it is essential to test and enhance your trading skills. The purpose of demo trading is to strategize and develop practices that can make you a trader who knows how to minimise risks.
