Hi MissPipsKiller,

what broker are you using? If it is FXOpen their MetaTrader ECN app has to be installed and running along the MetaTrader platform. And if it is that might have something to do with your account (actually you MetaTrader platform) acting strange on your VPS. That again depends on what kind of a VPS you are using.

Also, I know this may seem like silly advise, but make sure(double check) that you are logged in to your new real money account and not your old demo account=)

Did any of this help?

Hi again MissPipsKiller,

well for starters it would seem that it's not possible to trade MDP on this broker, as their stop level is 4 pips and MDP requires a stop level below 2 pips to the best of my knowledge. I know of a broker that used to have a stop level of 0 (like all TRUE ECN brokers should by the way) and a lot of people were having good results trading MDP with them until they changed their stop level to 2 and then the performance of MDP totally crashed. So, it seems like the only thing for you to do is to go find another broker. I know that sucks, but it would seem like that's the only thing you can do. And of course, contact the author of MDP concerning this issue... Good luck!

Just wondering, what everyones thoughts about a few or lots of people using MDP at the same time when spikes occur for us to trade. Would it be in our favor or would more people result in less profits. Id think that more people trading on spikes would increase the spike length and time resulting in a better profit on this type of scalping system. I dont think that more traders would harm us, I think that it would be in our favor. Your thoughts? 😎

Due to the way MDP trades, the more people that try to trade it, the harder it will be to turn a profit. We are all receiving the exact same trade signal, so everyone is attempting to open positions in the same direction. The MDP trades in highly volatile markets, which is generally lower volume. So therefore, this basically guarantees that a lot of people will experience bad slippage or not get their positions filled at all. You gotta remember, the MDP is NOT a trend follower. It is a reverse breakout scalper. Trend follwers are the EAs that are supported by high volumes of traders hitting all at once.

Well....it looks like I may be forced to find a new broker. I have had 2 possible trade opportunities pop up today and BOTH times my broker disconnected before the trades could be placed. AND it wasn't my internet connection. The disconnect happened on the mt4s at my home and on my VPS. The broker is FXOpen.

LIve IBFX made some good money this week. Less than half the trades as the Fiinfx demo account but its live and doing well. IBFX made 6 trades and Finfx had over 15 and the demo on mdp master page with thinkfx had 29 for yesterday only. All were useing a vps.

Hey Professor, are you still trading with IBFX and still demoing on FinFX? I am hunting for a good broker because it appears that FXOpen can't handle the MDP. The order open time is 1200+ ms and today they just killed the trade servers as the MDP got the trade signals. They kept it offline just long enough that MDP couldn't place any trades.

Hmmmm..... Well, at this point i am starting to think FXOpen is not so bad of a broker. My MDP hasn't even attempted to open a single trade yet today.
