Hi Guys and Girls,

Whats the best way and easiest way to avoid trading the news ?
And how long do you wait till the news is settled down ?
Trading is not about how much you make, but how much you didn't lose. / Push yourself because, no one else is going to do it for you.

Close your chart; but make sure your all trades are close now! That’s all.

You mean current ones just not to get distracted or something built in in broker interface ? If it's the latest then please stop all trades and just close trading program or have you mentioned anything else ? Please be more specific here ?

It depends on the news type! At least you have to know the news sessions time table! So, use economic calendar!

Best way to avoid the news is simply stop watching them completely all together anyway. Only select such ones which will be needed for your current today market trades and that's really it, so no more other news at all completely and totally. How do you see it ?

Don't bother avoiding it. There are so many news events all the time every day. If you start avoiding some where does it end. Some enough you will find yourself not trading at all

What's the 'conventional wisdom' on how long you should 'shut an EA' ahead and after high impact news. Currently set at 4hrs before and after. (News Filter)

Use the economic calendar to know the sessions of financial events and then close the chart! It’s simple!

I do agree with this. Watching too much news and going behind economic calendars all the time, destructs your trading routine. Going too high on news takes away your objectivity and logic. You are just keen to mould your trading plans according to the news then, not taking any practical decisions based on your own trading knowledge, which can really prove dangerous as far as your trading returns are concerned.

I like to get heavily involved with the news. I follow every announcement and try to get a fundamental view of FX pairs and use that for my trading. It can be confusing at times when there is positive and negative news but that is what everyone else is seeing so it is a story in itself. No point ignoring news. Information is power and the more information the better

Nice to see your interest on news trading! By the way, which one is your favorite news trading event?

Trade currency pairs not at the time of their trading sessions.
See the calendar in advance and set yourself reminders.

Lots of good opinions on trading the news or not trading the news. Still looking for opinions or guidance, or 'conventional wisdom' on the length of time to shut down before and after scheduled 'High' impact news. i.e. 1 hour before and after, 2hrs before and after, etc. etc. I'm passively trading on an EA that has a 'News Filter' with time settings for before news and after news; as well as OFF. Just looking for thinking from you more experienced traders.

Before opening my trading chart I always check out the economic calendar! It’s my habit!

So, that is great habit. If you have a good analytical abilities, you will get some important information from the main news to trade correctly.

“ I always laugh at people who say “I’ve never met a rich technician” I love that! Its such an arrogant, nonsensical response.
I used fundamentals for 9 years and got rich as a technician.

I know many successful traders who are doing their live trading only based on the technical I mean chart analysis!

It is necessary to limit viewing news from obscure resources. I try to use my proven sources of information and with their help my forecasts often bring me profit.

That's right. Using reliable sources is a must.
