Hello,

I'm plan to use MyFXBook Trading System on VPS.

Unfortunately, I cannot find information what is important to check before choose specific provider.

Can someone who use VPS servers of different vendors share the experience, why preferred one provider in front of another.

What are the really important features in choosing a VPS?

Best regards!

You must consider these factors while choosing a VPS for you
1) RAM AND STORAGE: An effective VPS host requires at least 4 GB of RAM and solid storage to provide efficient VPS to traders.
2) SUPPORT: Your VPS host needs to have a 24/7 support system. It can be via live chat, calling or ticketing system.
3) AFFORDABILITY, HOSTING PERFORMANCE AND RELIABILITY: Pricing is also an important factor to decide the VPS host as per your needs. Reliability signifies the creditability of the VPS provider in the market. Reviews about VPS providers can also help you to check their hosting performance and decide the right one for you.

Are Amazon reliable and fast enough for Forex VPS? I have been using a specialist Forex VPS and would be a bit concerned using a general VPS

Amazon VPS free for a year is enough to run 1-2 MT4 with high speed EA.
I do run Sniper accounts here - visible in my profile.
The latency is like 2 ms.

I also have positive experience with Amazon AWS for a year now. Although the basic plan is free (1 CPU, 1 GB RAM) for one year, it is capable of smoothly supporting 2 instances of MT5 running simultaneously with (3-4 charts/EAs each).
The big plus is that they have a lot of locations, which you can choose from... depending on the proximity to your broker's servers.

That’s really great! Thanks for sharing your experience; now I’m interested to check the details.

That's great info. I had never even considered using Amazon VPS but I will look at them. Free for a year would be great for me. I use pending orders so latency doesn't really matter that much

Well it depends on your strategy. Sensitive strategy needs minimum slippage. Robust strategy does not, so in such case you are looking for hard disk, ram and cpu parameters vs. price.

I used Amazon AWS for a year and they were acceptable, but after that year completed, the price to continue with them was too high.

For a scalping strategy speed is critical but it is so important that you would need a specialist to provide you with a link to the markets. A retail VPS would not be sufficient

Apparently the MT4 placed on the VPS can be encrypted so it can neither be seen nor accessed by the VPS provider.

Does anyone know the process for encrypting the MT4 placed on the VPS?

Thank you.

I think if you bind the EA to work only with your broker and account number (i.e. put such a protection code in the source code of the EA) and place only the executable on your VPS, that should be sufficient against prying eyes...
