Over-trading is a very harmful element. I have lost the investment of many of my accounts by overtaking. So I understand that overtrading can cause a lot of problems in psychology. Overtrading can ruin a trading career. The market is open 24 hours but not always traded in the market. Now if you are trading in this situation, you are not eligible to trade. If you do not give up overtrading, you will never see success in trading.
hard to fix as a habit tho

Yes, of course. I have lost so much of my investment in over-trading. So I never support over-trading.

@ArneilPacula Emotions will be there. But there is difference between reacting to the emotions and responding to emotions. Our decision should be influenced our emotions i.e fear, greed and anger.

yeah so true i used to think i needed 10 / 15 trades a day and was always looking to jump in now its more about 3 or 4 clean great risk to reward trades a week sometimes less

Overtrading is one of the reasons people lose money in the forex market. It happens due to lack of discipline and proper plans. You need to have good plans and execution of those plans. Otherwise you will keep losing money.

This is very important and is becoming a common habit among new traders. I think overtrading happens when a trader’s trade fails at some point and in order to recover that money they go ahead with other trades without proper strategy or research work. This is majorly due to letting your emotions take the front seat.

@marcusobrien Over trading is a serious problem in forex trading. People becomes habitual to it. As a result, they can not get rig of this habit.

Overtrading is the most dangerous thing in this market. You should be very careful.

@Akasuki What i think is that overtrading is caused when the traders have no control over their emotions . Especially when their trade goes wrong and they suffer a loss . A trader should know how to control their emotions in such situations and not let it take control over their decisions

Overtrading happens when the greed to make quick profits increases but a trader should realize that everything takes time to yield results, more greed can only give loss instead of profits.

Overtrading without knowledge is like a disaster, maybe will quickly face margin call account, except traders understand what they do, like as correlation trading pair in any pair that has a positive correlation, called basket trading, they open 28 trading pairs for correlation, but this is also not good trading setup for a trader that only use small funds.

Yes, Overtrading is harmful to your trading account and your investment into your skills. If you do not give yourself enough time between trades, you will not have a chance to manage your risk properly. Over-trading is a very harmful trading behavior that will lead one into permanent financial destruction.
