I just don't believe in selling or buying EAs. If something is good, it's kept in-house by the big corporations. No one will share something cool just like that and lose an advantage. Be really cautions and maybe better program your own EA but update it because in long term it will surely fail.
absolutly right

I do see good EA's for sale. But by the time you can recognise them your own are probably just as good.
There are reasons for people to sell good working EA's. If you don't have a lot of funds it can always be a boost, although the managed account is probably better way to go, you only need to get it right for 4 or 5 years before you likely have enough funds to just do your own.
Most people in fx don't have money. That's why they get into fx in the first place.
What you as an EA buyer need to understand is you don't have the skill set to handle EA's. The guy who wrote the thing has, you don't. So managed accounts are better, but you still leave your future in someone else's hands.
Better to just get independent and do your own thing.

How do you evaluate an EA and what are your minimum criteria in order to realise that the EA is good enough?

Some people don't realise that selling ea doesn't mean vendors give up something to obtain quick money, selling income is extra with no cost, their ea still theirs. They still run that ea on their own account if it is profitable. And at same time boost their account from 1k to lets say 50k. The only thing they need to worry is the ea not been decompiled. So some of them use mqllock to avoid been decompiled.

I have very bad experience on purchasing trading EA, yes I bought almost 3 trading EA’s but no good result! They showed me consistent good result before I found different result when I tried for my own trading account! This is way, right now I do manual trading, and I believe manual trading is much reliable than others trading EA or robot!

I totally agree with that.
We have developed our own ea, which is profitable. We also purchase ea which we think worth to analyse their strategies. We have develop few different ea by this way, and all of them profitable. So from my point of view, you have to be as good as those vendors to analyse their ea's strength and weakness, to know how to use their ea and when to use and when to stop. You also need to know your portfolio's strength and weakness to pick up right ea in order to cover your portfolio's weakness. Put simple way - make your equity curve smooth.

I have yet to see an EA which has been sold and actually work! Clearly he who sells something is looking to make a quick buck off of it as the price they are selling it for, isn't what they have in their account to begin with.

Oh selling EA make sence if you want the fast money and know those who want to buy one. In other cases I do not really believe guys who are selling EAs. Cheers.

Retail trader, I think they never think to buy robot, in addition, the price is more than 1000 USD, it is too much expensive, and not sure whether trading performance good or bad, manual trading we can manage the risk-based own preference, using robot will good if understand how it work so not shocks when trader face failure

I think it's a good point that nobody with a magic EA is going to sell that secret. There are some good ones out there, but the sellers are making a profit from buyers, whether they have a really good EA or one that isn't that great. They're all going to tell you that theirs will change your life, because they really just want to get the money from you. After that, you're on your own to figure out if they were right or wrong.
