French stocks struggled for direction on Friday after data showed consumer prices in the country rose at a faster rate this month due to higher energy prices.

Amazon announced that Prime Air, its drone delivery service, has received approval from the Federal Aviation Administration or FAA to fly its drones farther, beyond visual line of sight. The approval would allow Prime Air to further expand drone deliveries and to safely scale operations to more locations in the U.S.

German stocks were little changed on Friday after data showed retail sales in the country dropped sharply in April.

Asian stocks ended on a mixed note Friday even as a downward revision to U.S. first-quarter GDP data revived hopes for Fed rate cuts this year.

UK house prices increased in May after two consecutive falls as the housing market showed signs of resilience amid ongoing affordability pressures, the Nationwide Building Society said on Friday. House prices gained 0.4 percent month-on-month in May, offsetting April's 0.4 percent decrease. House prices were forecast to climb 0.1 percent.

All attention now turns to the crucial PCE reading, the Fed’s preferred inflation gauge, which is expected to have a direct impact on the dollar.

The Japanese Yen soared against the Greenback as risk aversion hit asset markets. The USD/JPY pair settled at 156.85, down from 157.40 yesterday. Japan’s 10-year treasury yield settled at 1.05% after reaching 1.1% this week for the first time since July 2011.

The US dollar has been staying at weaker levels lately, with the dollar index staying just above its 200-day moving average around 104.40.
