I trade longer-term positions — sometimes holding trades for days or weeks — so my needs differ from short-term scalpers. I joined SolidECN because the high leverage and low costs were appealing, but I wasn’t sure an offshore broker would suit a swing style.

One of the first things I looked into was whether they offer swap-free (Islamic) accounts, because overnight interest can eat into long-term trades. It turns out they do have a swap-free option on request, which was a relief.

I got my account switched to swap-free fairly easily by contacting support, so now I can hold positions overnight without worrying about accumulating swap fees. For example, I held a EUR/GBP trade for almost two weeks and didn’t get charged any interest thanks to that account setup. The trading conditions themselves have been steady over longer time frames – spreads don’t jump dramatically out of nowhere, and execution is still instant even if I haven’t touched the account in a few days. Setup was straightforward since it’s just MT5 – I loaded up my EA, set the parameters, and let it run on a VPS close to the broker’s server. Over the first month, I was pleased to see no random disconnects or downtime from their side.

The EA runs around the clock, placing maybe a dozen trades per day, and I haven’t noticed any odd behavior like delays in order execution. Latency is low enough that even my scalping algorithm can trade news spikes without getting crippled by slippage.
