5 Key Reasons Why EBC’s Partnership with IUU Is a Game Changer for Mongolia’s Financial Growth

EBC and IUU join forces to empower Mongolia’s next financial leaders, offering internships, lectures, and global exposure to real-world finance.

At EBC Financial Group, our commitment to Mongolia’s financial development has taken a significant step forward with our collaboration with the International University of Ulaanbaatar (IUU). This partnership is more than just an academic initiative; it is an investment in Mongolia’s future as a global financial player. Here are five key reasons why this partnership is truly a game changer.

1. Bridging the Gap Between Education and Industry

In an evolving financial landscape, theoretical knowledge is not enough. EBC understands this well and aims to connect students directly with real-world financial opportunities. At the Career Promotion Day hosted by IUU on 29 April 2025, over 160 students from the Economics and Business faculties engaged with EBC in a meaningful way. We didn’t just talk theory; we provided students with a hands-on experience of the fast-moving world of global finance.

Through activities such as financial lectures, career forums, and virtual trading competitions, EBC gave students insights into industry practices and real-world challenges. The result? Over 160 applications for internships and potential career opportunities with EBC—demonstrating that Mongolia’s youth is not just ready for the financial sector but eager to make a global impact.

2. A Long-Term Commitment to Talent Development

Unlike many short-term collaborations, EBC’s partnership with IUU is a long-term commitment to nurturing Mongolia’s financial talent. On the very same day as the Career Promotion Day, EBC and IUU formalised this collaboration with a Joint Cooperation Agreement. This agreement goes far beyond mere ceremonial value. It marks the start of a comprehensive programme that will provide tangible opportunities for students to build skills, gain experience, and ultimately transition into the workforce.

Key aspects of the agreement include:

  • Annual Internship Placements: EBC will offer up to 10 internship positions every year, giving students hands-on experience in Mongolia and abroad.
  • Ongoing Learning Opportunities: Monthly financial lectures, career advice sessions, and virtual trading competitions will ensure that students are continually learning and applying their knowledge.
  • Priority Recruitment Pathway: IUU graduates will have direct access to EBC’s recruitment process, alongside mentorship and research projects focused on Mongolia’s economy.

3. Investing in the Future of Global Finance

EBC’s partnership with IUU is not just about enhancing local talent; it’s also an investment in the future of global finance. By equipping young people with the necessary skills, we’re laying the foundation for a new generation of leaders who can innovate and drive growth in the financial sector.

As Mrs. Tamir Baatar, our COO, puts it:

“This partnership is more than a milestone for EBC in Mongolia; it’s a testament to our belief that empowering youth with knowledge and opportunity strengthens entire economies. By equipping students with real-world skills, we're investing in the resilience and innovation of the financial sector.”

The commitment goes both ways: we’re not only providing training but actively building the financial resilience of the next generation of professionals.

4. Building Stronger Industry-Academia Relationships

One of the key benefits of this collaboration is the strengthening of ties between the financial industry and academia. EBC is proud to support an initiative that creates opportunities for young Mongolian talent and fosters stronger ties between the two sectors. The goal is clear: to ensure that students have access to the latest industry knowledge, and that the financial sector has access to the brightest minds.

“We are proud to be part of an initiative that not only opens doors for young Mongolian talent but also builds enduring ties between industry and academia. EBC's vision is rooted in empowering the next generation with both knowledge and opportunity,” said Mrs. Baatar. This holistic approach bridges the gap between what students learn in the classroom and the skills they need in the real world.

5. A Global Vision with Local Impact

This collaboration is not only impactful on a local level but also reinforces EBC’s global vision. By working with IUU, we’re helping to equip Mongolian students with skills that will prepare them for an interconnected world. EBC’s long-term partnerships with global institutions such as the University of Oxford’s Department of Economics underscore our belief in connecting education with the global financial landscape.

Looking to the future, we are committed to expanding these efforts, bringing more opportunities to students in Mongolia while maintaining a strong focus on global financial trends and challenges.

Why This Partnership Matters for Mongolia’s Future

In summary, EBC’s partnership with IUU is not just another collaboration—it is a game changer for Mongolia’s financial growth. With a focus on real-world skills, long-term investment in talent, and a commitment to building stronger industry ties, we are proud to play an active role in shaping the future of finance in Mongolia and beyond.
