The Indonesia stock market on Monday snapped the two-day slide in which it had eased almost 50 points or 0.7 percent. The Jakarta Composite Index now sits just beneath the 7,100-point plateau although it may head south again on Tuesday.

Giving up some of the gains in the previous two sessions, the Australian stock market is modestly lower on Tuesday, following the mixed cues from Wall Street overnight. The benchmark S&P/ASX 200 is staying above the 7,700 level, with losses gold miners and technology stocks.

The Hong Kong stock market has moved higher in three straight sessions, rallying almost 800 points or 4.4 percent along the way. The Hang Seng Index now sits just above the 19,110-point plateau although investors may lock in gains on Tuesday.

The China stock market on Monday snapped the two-day winning streak in which it had gathered more than 25 points or 0.7 percent. The Shanghai Composite Index now sits just beneath the 3,150-point plateau and it may take further damage on Tuesday.

The Taiwan stock market has tracked higher in back-to-back sessions, advancing almost 300 points or 1.5 percent along the way. The Taiwan Stock Exchange now sits just above the 20,850-point plateau although it may run out of steam on Tuesday.
