I agree with you.

That's right, you should also test your strategy in the demo set up just to be double sure

Scalpers mostly use lower timeframes because of quick profits, but it is also risky trading with lower timeframes since most of the trade is like gambling.
at first i would have said you are right but after learning a lot more it would depend on how you describe scalping traders, see i now am what you would call an intra day trader and only trade London and New York sessions. with this i drop right down to the 1 min chart to find my entries to keep the SL tight. it could be looked at as scalping but in no way am i gambling

Absolutely right! this option will really increase the trader's chances of making a profit.
Hey Croisssan, than you for agreeing to my idea. It has always proven a better for me always.

Lower time frames are a bit difficult to trade; it is essential to get more accurate information about price action. However, the timeframe depends on your trading strategy as well.
Agreed. Also I think 1H is the best optimal to get the result. Sometimes 3 mins can be good too.

Why do experienced traders trade at a lower time frame? Is the market more volatile and profitable during lower time frames?
Lower time frame allows you to find many trading opportunities and this is the main reason experienced traders trade on them. But the movements of price action in lower time frames are fast, which makes it more risky. So, it's not advisable for beginners.

Oh lower timeframes can be used if you're scalper. But for fulltime traders it's difficult. On the lower timeframes market more volatility and shows wrong picture of the situation. It can be used for 15-30 min, but not much more time.
So dont' listen to that men who say you to trade on 1m-30m timeframes.

Yes lower timeframe is usually used for scalping traders, they like to use M5 or M15 for scalping trading, try to catch opportunities up and down wave that occurs, but usually, scalping traders need good support from brokers, not all brokers allow scalping, and this is needed fast execution order too. Sometimes I try scalping in my STP account FXOpen, but mostly I am trading as intraday trader.

I agree with you scalpers to need excellent trading conditions like tight spreads and permission to scalp from the broker. Luckily my current broker fxview takes care of all my trading needs. I can use any trading strategy with them including scalping and that to with spreads from 0.0 pips. Their low commission is a cherry on the top. 😝

It is more about getting a tighter entry and increasing your risk to reward

For beginners D1 and H4 is the best. Lower time frame is very much volatile. Yes you will get the result quick. But for trading psychology plays the important role. Higher time frame helps more to build a good trading psychology. In lower time frame you tend to do over analysis and overtrade which are bad for trading.

@Akasuki Yes for new trader H4 and D1 Time frame is the best. It lets them think about the market. In lower time frame market is too noisy. Difficult for newbies to trade there.

Maybe but the price action formations on the higher time frames are more reliable. So I prefer to stick to those

There are generally more opportunities in lower time frames because small fluctuations keep happening in the market continuously. However, it requires undivided attention and quick decision making to seize all those opportunities which is difficult for new traders.

I always think that trsding lower timeframes can bring much more profits, however there are some traders, or investrs who can earn solid sums of money due to trading on W1 timeframes and higher. Everything here depends on your skills and the general wishes. If you were dreaming about becoming a good investor, then perhaps it won't be difficult for you to trade higher timeframes and earn good sums of money. Anyway, I got used to suppose that investing requires solid sums of money initially in order to get a good percent from your investments. That's why I prefer trading lower timeframes and just accumulate money in order to invest it in future.
