In the bank where I'm working, if a trader makes between 15 to 40% a month, he is considering like a god.
Now I know how they work and their conditions: (zero commissions and up to 6 numbers afer decimal)
They press a buttom it opens and closes like High Frequency Trading
They dare to call this a trader!
They aren't allowed to keep positions.
All they do is to parameter the button, Open buy and close Sell or Open Sell and Close Buy depending on market direction.
That's it.

Can You, please, shed a little light on the type of strategies used by bank traders.
And how much they lever up their equity (what level of leverege they actually use not the maximum leverege).
They aren't allowed to keep positions ? That means that they are trading only short term inside just one trading day timeframe ?

I don't know everything as traders aren't even in my buildings.
They are not real traders like other banks... indeed it is forbidden to keep positions. They don't have time to think about closing trades, it's already closed automatically... It's HFT (milliseconds trading)

5% to 10% per month is a very reasonable % return to achieve under very low drawdown by any profitable system and any professional trader.
But there is really no upper limit on how much % a trader can make if he is willing to take high risk and willing to accept high drawdown and willing to diversify his funds into many accounts and of course if he knows exactly what he is doing without wiping out the balance.

I think this is a very subjective issue. Different people have a different idea what is considered profitable. For example, if I do 1% to 5% of profit per month I am terribly pleased, but others would scoff at such results and wouldn't consider them nearly enough.

I shoot for 10-20% a month, but honestly if you just shoot for 8% of your account per month that is more then enough, as I always say, slow and grow or fast and blow. In the beginning traders tend to take more risk in order to build an account quickly, and once it reaches a size they are happy with they lower risk greatly and just shoot for "small" consisten growth, such as 2% a month as thats more then enough to live off at that point. It is a difficult question to answer, it also depends on the market volatility. if it is a high volaitily month, then making 30-50% on a very good system designed for that type of market, risking 2% per trade and day trading, that is possible to gain, as long as you are willing to risk the potential drawdown. In the end it comes to the type of trader you are, how much you are willing to risk, and what your weekly, monthly, and yearly goals are.

5% a month is a common goal for Investors ,intra day trading its unlimited especially trading Forex or Crypto ,market volatility plays a big part obviously, you have to learn to step away from losing trades as quickly as possible and let winners run.

Do you think the market cares how much you make each month ,find the right trades and you can make way more than 5% a month.

It's just that people's ideas are different. For example, some people want 5% profit per month and some want 10%. Loss/profit is to be combined to gain profit.

Every trader is different. With my trading system and strategy, I can make on average 20% a month with minimum risk.
I also plan and create a trading strategy like you. However, my profit percentage is 5% per month.

I think trying to get a consistent positive returns on a month-to-month basis is a little difficult. Personally, I'd like it to be an annual thing. I always tell myself if the largest fund management companies out there measure their performance on a year-to-year basis, why should I measure mine monthly? Just my 2 cents.
