I see a few of us experienced a small loss today.. mine is solely due to late opening and closing short of the TP

any other comments? anyone make small profit today?

I am using FXCM, first position open price slightly far away, but 2nd position open price is better than sphantom. However, i took a small loss, for the first time i put this EA goes LIVE, because it works well since had forward test it for quite some time.

@borncorp try FinxFX. I believe they open accounts for US citizens. They do charge a commission on each trade of $7 per standard lot.

I had a very small loss on the trades of yesterday

For SPhantom, I think I see that number of trade shown on myfxbook can decrease!? Anyone noticed?

If you open a micro account at FinFX to trade .01 lots (they do not have cent accounts) there are no commissions. You can ask, and usually receive a margin increase from 200 to 300%. Traders Way is also convenient. They both take us Amerikans for the time being. I've traded through both of them for years before moving to XM Markets. Anyone using an EA to trade currencies through a US broker is out of their mind. 50:1 and no hedging for us while banks blow themselves up at 10,000:1 with their derivatives. Besides, you ought to be thinking about getting some money offshore anyway. At least if the IRS decides you didn't pay every last farthing to Caeser, they can't seize your assets without going through the court systems of brokers country.

@sPhantom : can you explain your choice to open a trade right before important news? Also the way it has been handled is different from other times, the second trade wasn't 1.5 times the first size and this made all of us get the first (slight) loss from you guys. Obviously I am not complaining about this tiny loss or asking you to unveil your winning strategy in general, but the way you traded yesterday is the reason of many concerns about your next trades. An explanation of what really happened would be very welcome.

On my Hotforex account both of the trades have been clearly closed before the TP. The difference was not due to a slippage or to the broker, but because of a signal.

hi, I never saw any 2nd trade bigger than the first one. even this official myfxbook account don't change the lot size of the 21nd trade.

is there a special version which do this??? (question for sPhantom)

also the latest batch of trades was manually closed by sphantom, so its normal that the trade were closed before the TP.

Sorry guys, I correct myself, I wanted to mean that the second trade gets usually a profit 1.5 bigger than the loosing trade in order to have an overall win in the trade. This time was the first in which the loss was bigger. In my account I never had a trade closed even 0.1 pips before the established TP, but this time there has been 8 pips of difference during a not volatile candle. Probably exactly enough to lose the 1.5 profit I was mentioning.

The very question remains: why to enter the trade right before important news?

To those who asked about forex trailing bot. It's created by den murakami you can just google it.
For suggestions to use it, just set 32 pips locks dont interfere on EA take profit.
I only used it just for an emergency, in case sphantom didnt close its trade.
U can set it 10 pips + 1 pip every trailing or something like 10 pip more to secure profit.

I won some trades yesterday but commission killed it lol.
They did that kind of trade last time too. Burnanke 1 hour before news.
I dont know why, I want some explanation too. lost .025% profit lol

Does XM Markets accept US clients?
No they do not. Unfortunately our Caesar and his IRS, FATCA, and FINRA reporting rules have turned most good brokers against Amerikan clients and they won't let us play in their sandbox anymore. You can sidestep this by forming an offshore business entity to gain access to the premier brokers. The least you can do as an individual is to go offshore with the likes of FinFX, Traders Way, or ForexFS. In today's world, if you do not have some money outside the reach of your government, whatever government that is, you are nuts.

Allow me to plant a seed and suggest that your brokerage account not be funded in your native currency. I am US but funded my brokerage in Aussie Dollars. Every currency is making the inevitable march to worthlessness. They just don't all go to zero at the same time. What are you going to do if you wake up some Saturday to a bank holiday and a revaluation of your native currency? Just a little food for thought...

I was on his web site and found the following disclaimer: 'Don't use it on pair, where you have active EA. They can make problems to each other. If you have any EA on EURUSD, don't use TrailingBot there. Use it on any other currency pair for your safety.'

Have you had any problems R3DWiNg using it with sPhantom?

Think I'll disable EA at times when either Bernanke or Dragi speaks. Last October, Draghi made a speech and indicated that one of the tools in the ECB's arsenal was 'negative interest rates'. The euro shed 300 pips within an hour. I was using a basket trader at the time (Toms EA), and on a $2300 acct., it hit -$1800. It did eventually pull out and close for profit, but for almost 2 weeks, I was sweating it!! Learned my lesson that time!

By the way, the next major news event to effect the pair is next thurs. 8:30 am est, unemployment claims, USD, as listed on Forex Factory. But Bernanke or Draghi can announce a speech anytime. Forex Factory stays up to date on upcoming news events.

Not really, having no problems. Just that whenever ill close mt4 i have to reactivate it again. like press f7.
Just dont set TP and SL any different from the EA and ull be fine.

See my post on #29 in regards to the response I got from the vendor on taking a trade so close to a major news announcement.

I emailed the vendor and asked if they had considered adding a trailing stop feature to the EA. Answer was no, not at this time. I really think it would be a pretty good idea. Lock in those first 10 pips, and let it run!
