The Hong Kong stock market has moved higher in three straight sessions, rallying almost 800 points or 4.4 percent along the way. The Hang Seng Index now sits just above the 19,110-point plateau although investors may lock in gains on Tuesday.

The China stock market on Monday snapped the two-day winning streak in which it had gathered more than 25 points or 0.7 percent. The Shanghai Composite Index now sits just beneath the 3,150-point plateau and it may take further damage on Tuesday.

The Taiwan stock market has tracked higher in back-to-back sessions, advancing almost 300 points or 1.5 percent along the way. The Taiwan Stock Exchange now sits just above the 20,850-point plateau although it may run out of steam on Tuesday.

The Singapore stock market has moved higher in three straight sessions, collecting almost 40 points or 1.2 percent in that span. The Straits Times Index now rests just above the 3,300-point plateau although it may open under pressure on Tuesday.

Producer prices in Japan were up 0.3 percent on month in April, the Bank of Japan said on Tuesday - accelerating from 0.2 percent in March.
