Hi there,
Im interested to find the best vps service for my broker. I do not know if my broker would tell me if their servers are located in a farm where a vps service is run by another company. How do you think is the best method to find out the closest vps service? Thanks.

Hi Raiden,
Sorry for the late reply. I think all the scenarios you mention are entirely possible. I would be lying if I said I understood all the nuances of how the platform connects to a broker.
This is why I am not too stressed about not seeing 100% on my indicator. It typically runs at 90%+ which I would call a benchmark......if I see it drop below that I would start asking questions? It is also useful for highlighting periods where either the VPS or the broker has caused a disconnect.
Thanks for the indicator. I would have assumed that there would be a minimum of one pass per tick but with your indicator, it shows that it is not necessarily the case, possibly terminating if a new tick comes in when the function has only executed midway through. Which might tell us to put critical processes closer to the front.
Consistency above all.

You use the MS-DOS command 'netstat' to determine their server's IP then ping them. More often than not, you can infer their location from their domain name.
Go to http://raidenworks.com/2012/03/10/latency-to-your-broker/ for some instructions to go about it.
Note that demo servers can be in different locations from the live servers.
Consistency above all.
