I think you need to learn from both mediums as a beginner. However, the visual medium will always be superior. If you try to learn the same trading concept by reading a book and then watching a video, then you will see that it is much easier to learn from a video. Still, many people including myself would prefer to read books instead. So, it is just a matter of personal preference in the end.

I would say hard work without a doubt! I know many traders who blame it on their luck when they happen to lose trades. But the one who has skills will always accept their mistakes no matter what. The willingness to learn from your mistakes is what takes you to success in the end.

The willingness to learn and determination to keep trying until they reach success gives them an edge. Sometimes we end up making good trading decisions by mistake and call it luck. However, luck cannot favour us forever when it comes to forex trading. We need to work on our skills and strategy for long term success. Losses are inevitable sometimes but we should never leave our trades to our luck. Because that will make it look like we have no control over our wins and losses as a forex trader.

I stick to only major pairs. They are less volatile and have high liquidity, making them profitable to trade. Moreover, they have low spreads, which makes them less expensive. Example; EUR/USD, USD/CAD, GBP/USD, etc.
