Hi, I asked this before but I didn´t saw my topic listed...
I´m new at this and I´ve been practicing in a demo account for over a month now.
I´d like to know if its better to start with certain pairs that may help understand the market better?
Maybe it´s a stupid question but also maybe not... lol

Thanks to everyone in advance.

Keep practising, experience will answer your question.
A pair might suits you for a while... and then not anymore.
They are alive and changing.

You cannot just understand the market better in general. Each pair is a separate market. So many factors involved with the selection of proper pairs to trade. Spend enough time on learning the basics first. As rob559 said - Babypips is a good place to go! Good luck!

I don’t think there’s such a thing as universal best pairs to start. The pairs that are best for you as an individual, depending on your needs as a trader, are a different matter. For example, at what time do you trade (i.e. during which session?). Do you prefer to trade range or trend? And so on and so forth.

There's no such a perfect pair for the first time you trade in Forex, however, it will always depend on what will be the best pair if you get to be updated with the news. I read the blog, and it is very helpful. You can check this one: https://itrader-reviews.com/ for reference. Recently, I just pair USD/EUR and I am feeling great with it.

I checked the link and I didn't see any clear reference to what you are saying. Maybe not necessary to post links like that referring to a brokerage website.

@cesaraugusto Start with EURUSD but trade outside major news, study the charts and read a lot to understand this market and the factors that affect it. You will grow your investment as you go.

It is a personal choice and what suits you best, how much do you care about spread,is it highly liquid, what effects it,etc.most people do start off on eur/usd,it doesn't mean you have to though. If your talking about understanding the market better you'll need to look at a few things:pmi, ism, billing, ports, retail, crb, bdi, eseu, esus, jobless, cci, steel index, bank credit, etc etc etc.

Hello Nina, apologies for I have posted the wrong link. At that time I was reading a lot of articles, and tons of tabs are opened. However, I have found the link that was meant for this thread.Try checking this one: https://itrader-stocks.com/faq/
Also, I don't refer any brokerage firm or whatsoever just want to share some helpful information :)

It is excellent to try some pairs and if they work continue with them, then stop, then follow. But dollar, euro, gold are preferred by some.

Yes, that's what I did and found the best pair for me but somehow USD/EUR didn't work for me. But right now, I am into GBP/JPY and I love them.

Hello Anne, I've checked the both links. I think the first one you sent doesn't have any relation with the best-traded pairs, however, I love the articles on that blog! They are easy to understand and well written, with the latter link I love the FAQ it helped me a lot and I gained new knowledge. Thanks!

I look at community outlook to see what's happening, take for example at the moment CAD/JPY 86% SHORT JPY, time does lag a bit and I wonder how accurate this info is, what if I go long, can 86% be trading the wrong direction, I will let this run in demo see what happens.

Well as you can see this trade is doing really well at the moment we are up E956.88 on CAD/JPY @12.01PM who knows it might hit 90.00 but its levelling out at 87.94.I will move the stoploss up to 800 take profit.
