Ravenlok & others,
MT4 v4.09 & TOM v1.89 with autologin is back on all my accounts with all brokers, and all EAs (not just TOM) are breathing with relief LOL.
Have not received a "broker disconnected" email yet and TOMSEA is taking profits at the customary 30 pips.
By talking to several developers I have noticed that noone is using a version of MT4 above v4.09. There is a lesson there for me...

OK guys - you ready for this...?
Just got off Live Support with Ivan G, as I noticed no trades from TEA today. Apparently, it's an "undocumented feature", as Tom's decided to try avoiding open weekend trades (presumably just from a Friday, as there's usually plenty on my account from earlier...!).
Rolling back to v1.89 sorts this out. Pleased I caught this (and got Ivan in tech support). It's not that it's happened, but would've been nice to know (or did I miss this somewhere...?)!

nope pocketguy, the feature was not publicised.
I was not aware of it either. Are you sure though?
It does not make sense to avoid "friday open trades" as there are always open trades at the week end form previous days?
Ivan, can you explain the feature?
cheers

Previously when I updated to v1.91 I had this happen last week but wasn't sure if it was just coincidence & after rolling back to 1.89 it doesn't happen as well. If this is indeed an intended 'feature' I think many of us would like to be able to switch it off. I agree, no sense as open trades are usually present anyway & I can't see it ever caused a problem before. The way Tom's trades it seems pointless really. I'm requesting it be made optional in the TEA forum as well.

Yep. Delivered verbatim from Ivan. He did say they were reviewing it for the next release.
Can't believe I didn't spot it sooner. Am rolling back this weekend.

I justed posted in TEA forum in V1.91 Glitches' about it.
Often get late trades opening just before market close which is good for market open as you already have things in place for the week start.
I posted last week about this in this forum after Friday trades didn't happen & I think others also had it occur but we couldn't tell then if it was just a one off occurrence.
Will be interesting week ahead with short eur & gbp trades in deep ATM & NFP coming up week end.

Hi All,
Any comment on current GBP/USD? seams the up trend is strong. near my stop loss point
I am still 140 pips from my first GBP/USD 600 pip SL. There has been triple bearish divergence set ups on the Pound over the last few trading days, with the pair in extreme over-bought territory. Really don't see it moving up more then 100 pips without a correction.

Holding the trade for too long.
That's how Tom's EA works.... we all know that the market trends around 30% of the time. This is where TEA struggles, however I don't believe that with this system a 600 pip SL is "Holding on to the trade for to long"
Even if I get a few of the GBP positions stopped out, I'm still up over 78% since November, so I'm happy.

Is that MT 416 customised for a broker - might be worth mentioning? By the way you can ask your broker for an ip address to put in the server name entry if you really need to use an MT4 version from another broker.
MT409 & MT416 files I posted are generic for any broker.

I hope the next version of TEA is out in time to be given a good test before we're unable to use 4.09 any more & don't find ourselves forced to run 4.19 with toms v1.91. The no Friday trade & small tp issues being the worst of this of course, so we're going to need a new version of TEA before that point definitely.

PLEASE make it so we have a FRIDAY trading EA option for the next version please.
Please keep versions for the original trading system we purchased available.
Or as I have nothing against more configurability, please make it an option to continue to trade original system including Fridays.
All that happens if you leave the old version of the ea active when you upgrade the mt4 is ALL the buy trades close out instantly. This is what happened to me.
With a clean install of new version of MT4 and then install v1.91 it runs fine and the tp sizes are correct.

Hi All
I've been going over my TEA history, and notice that at no point does the EA hedge in the opposite direction to balance a basket of trades, particularly when the EA is turned of for a given pair to manage down the basket. Given the recent events (take Cables' recent run for example), I'm struggling to see why this doesn't happen. Appreciate TEA is primarily a range trading system, but couldn't this be built into the logic, or am I missing something (or perhaps too inexperienced to appreciate the difficulties involved)?
Manually hedging in the hope that the trades pull back isn't really ideal, given the nature of what an EA's supposed to do (particularly one as reliable as this). Esp. when the market goes into freefall, this seems to be a bit of an achilles heel for the system, and (surely...?) not something that's too complex to tackle. Bracketing with a trend EA isn't really a fix, more of a patchwork workaround.
On that note, I just checked into the site to see how Dustiin's live Tom's a/c is doing, and noticed the same issue, with the martingale steadfastly multiplying up longs in, for example, EURGBP, which is now at 1.08 lots, and the a/c showing c. 33% DD. (Still, it's a better result than JP Morgan's ;) )
Anyone else have any thoughts or observations on this?
Separately, have any of you seen the feedback on Greg Stefaniak's Success Signals system? Although the claims are for manual intervention, and trend, grid & range trading, it seems to be awfully close to TEA in operation, right down to the way the martingale operates and provision of the mirror function (although this seems to be a straight MT4 copier, not Tradency). Wonder where the code originated from...(?)
